29 March 1928 (NYC): Humbert J. Fugazy purchases and takes title to property at 54th St and 12th Ave from the Hearst Estate, to build the Metropolitan Coliseum--the largest indoor fight arena in New York--to run in opposition to Tex Rickard's Madison Square Garden.
