Thomas R. Allen aka Tom Allen was the Alderman (D) for the 38th Ward in Chicago Illinois.
Tom boxed in a charity event versus fellow Alderman (R) and friend Brian G. Doherty who at the
time was also a Chicago Alderman, 41st Ward. The fundraiser in 1997 helped to send a team of
amateur boxers to compete in Ireland. The event was labeled 'The Roar at the Shore' and held
at the South Shore Cultural Center on the lakefront of Chicago's south side.
