Per the August 23, 1918 Tacoma News Tribune (Tacoma, WA, USA), Jack Hartford was headed to box in California, then eventually to Ohio where former Tacoma resident Biddy Bishop was managing fighters and promoting cards.
He was the brother of fellow Tacoma boxer Eddie Hartford.
The July 10, 1920 TNT reported that he was studying dentistry in San Francisco.
