OSCAR"CoachBuck" WINBERG BUCHANAN, 85, native Memphian, passed away August 5, 2008 at Quince Nursing Home. He greeted everyone as "Hey Coach" and was a longtime member of Colonial Baptist Church, where he had taught 13 year old boys sunday school class. He was a graduate of Tech High School and the University of Mississippi, where he was an outstanding member of the football team and winner of many athletic awards. He later coached football at Yazoo City High School and Memphis State University. Coach Buck was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He later retired from Fruehauf Trailer Company and was a member of the Ole Miss Loyalty Foundation and the Rebel Club.
