Obituary

Michael Lee Larchick died in his Tualatin, Oregon home on January 7, 2016. At his bedside were his wife, Kathy, two of his three children, Ann and Chris, along with his beloved dog Bradley. He was born in San Francisco, California on October 31, 1941, the second of three children born to Stanley and Darice Larchick. Michael grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, graduating from Pius X High School in 1960. He was an avid sportsman, playing football and boxing. He was a Midwest Golden Gloves Champion. Michael's career was in the commercial printing industry. He traveled throughout the United States and around the globe managing web press operations including installation, repair, and teaching people how to operate the press. His work took him to places such as India, Spain, Venezuela, Trinidad and Germany. His loving, generous spirit and his dedication to making a difference in the lives of others did not go unappreciated. There are many people who came to know and call Michael Larchick their friend. He spent his retirement years doing what he enjoyed. His love of sports was obvious to all who knew him. He looked forward to golfing with friends and never missed an opportunity to root for the Denver Broncos and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He leaves behind his wife, Kathy (Wiggins) Larchick, whom he met in Denver, Colorado and spent the next 33 years traveling and often relocating for work. During their lives together they lived in Denver, Evergreen, Reno, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Portland. Michael has three wonderful children whom he loved dearly. They miss their father and have many fond memories. His eldest son Michael Lee Larchick, II, wife Betty and son Michael John live in Littleton, Colorado. His daughter Ann Vossler and her husband Bill live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They have four children: Colby, Joseph, Franklin and Chase. His youngest son Christopher and his son Kyler live in Snohomish, Washington. Michael is also survived by his brother Stanley Larchick of Lincoln, Nebraska, his sister Kandia Wood of Brunswick, Maine, his stepmother Thedora Larchick of Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Michael's life was well-lived. He inspired many and is missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to House Call Providers, 5100 SW Macadam Avenue, Suite 200, Portland, Oregon 97239. House Call Providers is an outstanding hospice organization which sent nurses, doctors and spiritual counselors to the Larchick home who were so loving and supportive to Michael and his family in his final days.
