Name: Frank Carbone
Alias: The Destroyer
Hometown: New York, New York, USA
Pro Boxer: Record

Frank Carbone began fighting while in the United States Army, on the Mexican frontier and later in the Philippines. No record of his army fights is available.

Carbone was a rugged, hard-bitten fighter, who is not known to have been stopped until his fight with Paul Berlenbach, January 28, 1924. Among others, he fought Mike O'Dowd (eight times), Mike McTigue (four times), Ted (Kid) Lewis, Johnny Wilson, Harry Greb (twice), George Chip, Jeff Smith (three times), Tiger Flowers, Bryan Downey (three times), Jack Delaney, Tommy Loughran, Jimmy Clabby, Young Stribling, Soldier Bartfield, and Jock Malone (three times). His fight with Berlenbach may have been his last, but three later fights involving a "Frank Carbone" (with Ray Romero, Elmer Bezenah, and John Somogye) are known to have occurred. For now, these three fights have been credited in BoxRec to another "Frank Carbone," at least until his identity can be established.
