On August 18, 1982, Jose Stable was sentenced to life in prison in a Miami court, for shooting and wounding a police officer. The officer had been attempting to arrest him for failing to appear at a scheduled hearing on November 16, 1981. When the officer attempted to arrest him, Stable shot him with a shotgun, before the SWAT team was sent in to arrest him. Source: (UPI)
