- Won the Adirondack Golden Gloves Light Welterweight Championship in 1976. Atlas quit boxing because of a back injury.
- Founded the Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation in 1997 in honor of his father. The main mission of the Foundation is the awarding of scholarships and grants to worthy individuals and organizations based upon scholastic potential, community service, athletic achievement, and economic need.
