Kid Davis, a 1910s/early 1920s Utah bantam/feather, was reportedly the brother of fellow Utah boxer Tommy Gethan. [2].

It was reported in mid-September 1911 that he had fought some 50 bouts since he had started three years earlier, with only one decision loss, to Frankie Erne, which he avenged soon afterward by KO-3. [3]

Around February 1912 he became a boxing instructor at the local YMCA. [4]

As there were at least one or two others fighting as "Kid Davis" (Ogden Kid Davis & Kid 'Babe' Davis) in the same area, at roughly the same era, there may be some confusion among their records.

According to his obituary in digital form in the September 1, 1949 edition of the Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, Utah) on Newspapers.com, David W. "Kid" Davis, 59 years of age and a one-time bantamweight boxer from Utah, died of a heart ailment in a Torrance, California hospital on August 31, 1949. After retiring from the ring during 1924, he continued to teach many young men to box. During World War II in California, Davis was a worker and a physical instructor at Douglas Aircraft, Inc.
