Legal problems

On July 1, 2004, a California grand jury indicted Alexio on two counts of bank fraud in addition to failure to pay more than $30,000 USD in outstanding child support. He was accused of writing two bad checks to the Marin County Child Support Division to satisfy his child support obligations.

According to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin newspaper in December 2005, a federal magistrate ordered Alexio detained and returned to California. U.S. Marshals arrested Alexio, who had been living in Hawaii at the time.
