"Roland Prairie, 19 year old Montreal boxer, won a unanimous 10-round decision over Kid Point, here last night, but fainted after the match, was rushed to hospital and died there. Prairie...had a decisive edge over Point in the first nine rounds, but he hit the canvas for the count of four in the last round after Point connected with a right to the jaw. He staggered to his feet, seconds before the bell, but collapsed a minute later, while on his way to the dressing room." - Montreal Herald. Prairie was reported to be 19 years old at the time, but the following day's Herald said his correct age was 21. He had been suffering from bad headaches and dizziness leading up to the fight.
