Felix Dobbertin came from a German family and grew up on Oslo's East Side. He belonged to the club Torshaug which existed from 1909 to 1958 in the district of Torshaug (today Torshov).

Ïn the 1950's Felix Dobbertin became one of Norway's best rally drivers. He participated in the famous Rally Monte Carlo in 1960. As late in 1965, Dobbertin was among the country's 10 best drivers.
