- Hugo Corro, who won two comeback bouts in 1988 after a seven year absence, lost via first round knockout to middleweight contender Juan Domingo Roldan of Argentina on September 16, 1988, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. [1] After a draw over 10 rounds in December 1988, and getting knocked out in the fourth round in February 1989, Corro's attempt comeback ended.
- Older brother of 32-4-3 Argentine lightweight contender Osvaldo Omar Corro who fought between 1985 and 1994. Osvaldo held the South American Lightweight title in 1993, and inspired his brother's comeback try.
- Died of acute liver disease at age 53 in 2007. Won world middleweight title shortly after fellow Argentine Carlos Monzon retired. Monzon died at age 52 in 1995 in a car accident, an eerie dying young parallel.
