Huff was a member of the Klamath Tribe. Huff served nine months in jail in 1925, for possession of alcohol. Huff was actually pardoned by Oregon governor Walter M. Pierce after serving six months, but was unable to pay the fine, so had to serve out the fine at $2 a day.
