According to his obituary in February 15, 1939 edition of the Los Angeles Times on Newspapers.com, Frank "Kid" Williams, 57 years of age, died of stomach cancer at his home the previous night (February 14, 1939). His real last name being Solomon, Williams was the brother of fellow old-time boxer, Bernardo "Kid" Solomon. Also according to the obituary, Williams was the world welterweight champion for 48 hours before getting it stripped from him.
