The 1947-4-11 Lebanon Daily News reported that Ernie Drescher had thus far fought 7 professional fights for a 5-1-1 record; having knocked out Lucky Morrison, John Clemons and Eddie King (all in Reading) as well as Larry Shaw (New Haven), having outpointed Eddie King and having drawn with Walter Poodles (both in Reading). The only setback suffered by Drescher was a TKO loss to Eddie King in a fight once again in Reading.The same issue of the Daily News reported that Drescher was scheduled to fight a 6-rounder with Billy Watson the same evening in Reading.
