Paul Nielsen was a professional boxer from Toronto, Ontario. He was first Canadian Professional Boxing Council heavyweight champion. Nielsen earned this honor by defeating George Jerome of St. Boniface, Manitoba, by eighth round TKO at Toronto's Queen City Boxing Club in 1976.
Death
Nielsen's career was cut short by a fatal car accident in August of 1978. He was scheduled to unify the Canadian title with Canadian Boxing Federation champion George Chuvalo the following October.
