Marco Barahona won the 1973 135lb New York Golden Gloves Sub-Novice Championship. Barahona defeated Louis Rodriguez of the Third Moravian Commmunity Center in the finals to win the Championship. Barahona a native of Nicaragua trained at the Telstar Athletic Club in New York City.
