Chris Clarke represented Canada as a Light welterweight at the 1976 Montreal Olympic games. His results were:

• Defeated Lasse Friman (Finland) 5-0
• Lost to Jozsef Nagy (Hungary) RSC 3

Clarke also won the Light welterweight gold medal at the 1975 Pan American games, defeating Aaron Pryor of the United States in the final. Clarke was the first Canadian boxer to win a gold medal at the Pan American games.

Clarke was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
