Besides boxing Stan was one of the earliest BeBop drummers playing with Dizzy Gillespie by the time he was sixteen years old Later on he played with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Stan Getz and many other great jazz musicians. Later in life he became a well-respected photographer.
