Georgie Lee was of Chinese heritage. He was born in San Francisco, CA, in 1900. Around 1918 he had been packing boxes in a Sacramento department store for a living, supporting his younger brother and sister, when he decided to become a professional boxer, fighting as a flyweight. [1]

After his boxing career ended he lived a long and healthy life in the Sacramento area, primarily living on the income his former manager, Ancil Hoffman, had set up for him. He was inducted into the Sacramento Hall of Fame. Source
