Mike Pete was the brother of fellow boxers Frank Pete and Victor Pete and promoter Peter Pete.

Early in his career (January 1916) there had been a report that a Dan McKinnon of nearby Buckley held a decision over him, which was quickly denounced by his friends. [1]

Mike Pete was a Wilkeson miner by trade. He later helped co-found the Seattle Boxing Association in 1930.
