The September 2 1937 Nevada State Journal reported the following about White: 'The burly Stockton Indian is built like a Japanese wrestler with bigger waist than shoulders but despite his ponderous appearance the Chief packs a knockout wallop.'
Per the September 22, 1938 Tacoma News Tribune, White was a Chippewa Indian.
He had started his boxing career in 1936.
