Jack Dalton was born March 28, 1901 in Harbasha, Russia. He was German by nationality. His name at birth was Emanuel Rindfleisch. He came to America in 1909. His ring name of "Jack Dalton" was given to him by the sports writer for the Dallas Times Herald, Jeri Hayes. His Louisiana boxing license #23 was issued March 3, 1923. He continued fighting into at least 1925. At one point he was called "Featherweight Champion of the Southwest."

Dalton died March 25, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.
