Andy Palmer (commonly reported as Kid Palmer) was also sometimes referred to as Tony 'Kid' Palmer of Los Angeles. And, per the August 3, 1920, Los Angeles Times, as "Wild Cat Palmer."

Palmer was the United States Army Welterweight Champion in the late 1910s. [1]

According to his obituary in the August 27, 1945 edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer on Newspapers.com, "Andrew Palmer" was found by his landlady the previous night (August 26, 1945) at 7. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The death was the result of a heart attack. About 20 years before his death, he fought as "Kid Palmer" in the middleweight division while reportedly facing the likes of Harry Greb, Tiger Flowers, Lou Bogash, Italian Joe Gans, Jack McCarron and Panama Joe Gans. Note- A bout between Harry Greb and Kid Palmer is not listed on either fighter's record.

According to his death certificate in digital form on the Pennsylvania, Death Certificates, 1906-1964 database on Ancestry.com, one Anthony J. Palmero, a bartender and a widower, was born on June 3, 1900 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died on August 26, 1945 at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia. His last name was sometimes listed as "Palmer." He was a U.S. veteran. Both of his parents, Guiseppi and Maria Palmero, were natives of Italy. According to his Veteran's Service Application in digital form on the Pennsylvania, WWI Veterans Service and Compensation Files, 1917-1918, 1934-1948 database on Ancestry.com. one Anthony J. Palmer, a single man, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1900. He enlisted in Philadelphia on May 17, 1917 and served in Company M, 19th Infantry while rising to the rank of private first class until he was honorably discharged on April 1, 1919 at Camp Henry Jones in Douglas, Arizona. Palmer had the application notarized on March 15, 1934 and was scheduled to receive twenty payments of ten dollars a month for a total of two hundred dollars.
