DECATUR - Dr. Michael Pacyga, a former local obstetrician/gynecologist, died Monday evening at a hospital in Iowa, where he had just begun practicing. Pacyga, 43, died at Fort Madison Community Hospital, said Amy Eggar, community relations specialist at the 50-bed hospital. Eggar said Pacyga had started seeing patients Monday.

The cause of death was a heart attack suffered while using a treadmill, on August 5th, 2002. He was 43 years old.
