  • Between 1905 and 1906 Jim Savage worked as one of Bob Fitzsimmons's sparring partners.
  • Made debut on Summit Athletic Club stag card Feb 9, 1906 against one Vane Carlton. Result unknown.
  • Scheduled to box 3 rounds with Peter Maher at Summit AC in March 1906, but the gate receipts were stolen and the card fell through.
  • Sept 5, 1907: Savage was to box Kid Cutler in a six round preliminary to a bout between Jim Barry and Jack Blackburn at the Savoy A.C. in Bridgeport, Conn. Result unknown.
  • November 30, 1909: Savage was scheduled to box 15 rounds with Jack Reed at Allentown, PA but had to back out because of bruised ribs.
  • January 17, 1910: Savage boxed Black Bill in a lively six round exhibition at Orange's Armory.
  • April 27, 1910: Savage is to fight a rematch with Dan 'Porky' Flynn at Boston but is stricken with what is believed to be appendicitis and returns home. He spends two weeks in St Mary's Hospital in Orange, NJ.
  • Sept 7, 1910: It is reported in the Newark Evening Star that Margaret (nee Allen), the wife of Jim Savage, passed away at their home at 157 Washington Street.

  • According to his obituary, Savage worked as a trainer at the Friars Club and Motion Picture Club in New York City, conditioning stars including John McCormack, Bing Crosby and Major Edward Bowes.
