Difiore was born in Acerra, Naples, Italy and emigrated to the USA at the age of 11 in 1959. He has been an American Citizen for the past 40 years. His career began as an amateur boxer at the Chicago (CYO) Catholic Youth Organization boxing club for about 5 years, starting at the age of 16 under the supervision of legendary trainer and later cutman for Oscar De La Hoya, Chuck Bodak. Afterwards he became a coach for the Union League Boxing Club along with former #1 lightweight contender Johnny Lira. He coached at the ULBC for 10 years winning many tournaments and boxing awards. When Chuck Bodak retired as coach of the Chicago CYO he was asked to take over and was there for 10 years. During this time he also coached professional fighters.

When he retired from coaching he became an amateur boxing official for approximately 5 years. Then in 1994 he was given the chance at pro-judging for the Illinois State Boxing Commission. Since then he has officiating at local, State, National and International World Title fights.
