Matsuda Boxing Gym
Matsuda Boxing Gym (Matsuda Boxing Gym) is a boxing gym located in Atsuta Ward , Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture.
He trained Seiji Hatanaka to become the first world champion at a gym in Nagoya. Today, it still reigns as one of Nagoya's prestigious gyms, along with Midori Boxing Gym .
History The gym was founded in 1943. Yasuo Matsuda, who fought over 40 fights as a 10-round featherweight fighter in the 1935s (1935-1944), opened a gym in Naka Ward, Nagoya upon his retirement from active duty. The original building was destroyed in an air raid during World War II , but the current gym was rebuilt in 1948 in Atsuta Ward, Nagoya City.
The eldest son Kouji, who replaces Yasuo who retired from the gym in 1982 and runs the gym, says, ``I want to show my father that a champion is born from Matsuda Gym, realizing his father's unfulfilled dream of training champions. In order to improve his skills, he quit his job in 1986 and devoted himself to developing players.
The most likely candidate in 1987 was Seiji Hatanaka , and the birth of Big Hope revitalized the stagnant Chubu ring. Toshiro Isomura (featherweight), who has continued to train players to follow Hatanaka, winning by KO in 4 of his 5 fights with 5 KOs within 1 minute of the first round, and Takashi Murata (featherweight), who is never inferior to him even in sparring with Isomura. ), Katsutoshi Yokoi (J Featherweight). Later, Yasuei Yakushiji also joined.
