Jay Deas started Skyy Boxing in Northport, Alabama in 1995 to train, manage and promote local fighters. At 26, he was the youngest promoter in the sport. In 2007, Deas was named as the United States Olympic Committee's National Development Boxing Coach of the Year. Too, he was the first licensed promoter ever in the state of Alabama.
