Bennie Georgino grew up in a suburb northeast of downtown Los Angeles, CA, USA. He sold newspapers on the streets, and then would visit the Main Street Gym to see what visiting boxers were there.
He boxed as an amateur and did some sparring, including sparring with Lou Ambers. In time Georgino began training and managing boxers such as Danny Lopez, Alberto Davila, Jaime Garza, Oscar Muniz, Herman Montes and John Montes.
He was named The Ring magazine Trainer of the Year for 1983.
Georgino's son Don Georgino was also a promoter and his brothers Carmen Georgino and Tommy Georgino were boxers.
Inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame, "Expanded Category" (Managers & Trainers), for his 60 years in boxing.
