The Gazette notes on 3/10/39 that Dad was Lou Ambers sparring partner in 1936 when he was getting ready for title bout with Tony Canzoneri, and that Dad was Golden Gloves champion in 1933 & '34 and also held the Queens County featherweight championship in those years. Semas, purported to weigh in at 152 lbs., weighed far more than dad according to 3/13/39 Gazette article and was "guilty of continual holding throughout the ten rounds" and was "obviously twelve pounds heavier than his challenger." | ||
