Canto Robleto (also spelled "Robledo") later went blind. His son Bobby also was a boxer; and his brother Joe fought Manuel Ortiz for the bantamweight title. Canto was also the brother of boxer Ceferino Robleto.

In 2010, a bronze image of Robledo was unveiled in the Villa Parke Community Center of Pasadena, California, to honor his memory. [1]. He also received the "Joe Louis Humanitarian Award" from the World Boxing Hall of Fame for his decades of dedication to Pasadena's young people.
