Inactive 1966. Cohen is of Morrocan-Hebrew heritage--in the early 1970's Cohen was ranked as high
as the number #4 middleweight in the world by Ring magazine. Cohen won the French national Middleweight
Title in 1971 and again in 1974. Challenged great Columbian World Middleweight Champion Rodrigo Valdez in 1976 for the World Boxing
Council's World Middleweight Title belt but was stopped in the fourth rd. He retired after this loss. Cohen was one of the many Jewish North African fighters to rise to prominence after WW2 in boxing including World Champions Robert Cohen, Alphonse Halimi and Fabrice Benichou.
