Considered to be a leading flyweight contender in New Jersey at the height of his career. Defeated a number of fine fighters like Willie Cubic, Bobby Wolgast, Young Ketchell and Pussy Walker. Fought two close fights with flyweight champion Midget Wolgast and also Harry Jeffra who later won the featherweight championship of the world.
