Groenteman is of Jewish heritage. Groenteman was a Dutch kickboxing champion besides winning the Dutch Jr. Welterweight Title 2012-the bout ended in a draw but Groenteman was awarded the title. And he currently runs a kickboxing and boxing gym in Amsterdam and his gym is recognized as an official training site by the Dutch Boxing Association.
