Eddie (Kid) Wolfe was a highly ranked junior lightweight and lightweight contender in the early 1930s.
He had a stirring three fight series with Teddy Yarosz--each fighter winning one, with one draw. Wolfe never received a title shot. Wolfe was a referee and judge in New Orleans after his career ended. Held the
Southern Featherweight Title from 1928 to 1931 when he moved up to lightweight and relinquished the Featherweight Title when he could no longer safely make the weight. Fought for the Southern Lightweight Title but
was defeated by Ervin Berlier on June 1, 1931 for the title. Wolfe defeated Featherweight World Champion Johnny Dundee and the aforementioned Middleweight Champion
Teddy Yaroz for two of his more dramatic wins in a long and storied career.
