Name: Adolf Wiegert
Hometown: Magdeburg, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany
Birthplace: Berlin, Germany
Died: 1930-06-04 (Age:35)
Pro Boxer: Record

Adolf Wiegert was a prisoner of war during World War I in the Handforth and Knockaloe camps on the Isle of Man. Here he learned boxing and fought, in unofficial bouts, such opponents as Fritz Dubois, Kurt Prenzel and Hans Breitenstraeter, among others. He returned to Germany in 1919.

Wiegert's record was published in the German JAHRBUCH series, but that record was filled with errors and lacked many dates and locations. The record given here was obtained from BOX-SPORT and BOX-WOCHE, German boxing newspapers, and German newspapers such as CHRONIK. A few of the dates given here are probably inaccurate by one to seven days, but they can be corrected if more precise information is found.

Wiegert died during surgery.
