Sammy Frager was a boxer of the 1920s who came from the same stable as Memphis Pal Moore. He twice fought Sammy Mandell. Frager was the featherweight champion of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station (Illinois) during World War I.
Frager later sold boxing equipment out of Chicago. He also made gloves for Joe Louis, Barney Ross, Max Baer, Tony Canzoneri and James J. Braddock, among others. He created the gloves for the Muhammad Ali vs. Sonny Liston (2nd meeting) bout.
