Johnny Fasano was referred to by the San Jose Evening News in 1940 as, "a rugged, rough and tough San Francisco Italian... (that) isn't a flashy ring article. Far from it. But he is strong and experienced and takes a punch well. He isn't a puncher of the knockout type, but he jars his opponents and wears them down." [1] [2]
