Nicholas C. DiSalvo is a regional fight promoter based in the New England states. He is the co-owner of fight promotion New England Fights with business partner and matchmaker Matt Peterson.
DiSalvo was born in Malden, Massachusetts, the son of Nancy and Nicholas DiSalvo. He was raised in neighboring Revere, Massachusetts where he attended public schools. He graduated from Revere High School in 1995 as a member of the National Honor Society. DiSalvo went on to attend Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. He graduated summa cum laude in 1999 as a President's Scholar and recipient of the prestigious Maria Bonanno Memorial Scholarship. DiSalvo then attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts where he concentrated in Sports and Entertainment Law.
A member in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar, DiSalvo practiced plaintiff/employee-side employment and labor law with an AV-rated law firm in Boston's Financial District for nearly a decade. He has also maintained his own law office out of his Billerica, Massachusetts home since 2007.
A lifelong fight fan, DiSalvo began promoting mixed martial arts (MMA) events in the Boston area in 2010. In the fall of 2011, he met Maine state representative, and fellow fight fan, Matt Peterson. The pair decided to open their own fight promotion known as New England Fights (NEF) with DiSalvo serving as the promoter and general counsel and Peterson acting in the role of primary matchmaker and head of talent relations. They set up their base of operations at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine, an arena famous for the Muhammad Ali-Sonny Liston World Heavyweight Title rematch of 1965. Regularly drawing crowds of between 2500 and 3000 to their events, NEF quickly became a leader on the regional MMA scene. In March 2013, DiSalvo and Peterson co-promoted an event with national fight promotion Bellator. In July 2014, it was announced that NEF would branch into boxing promotion with its first boxing event to be held on October 11, 2014 in Lewiston, Maine.
DiSalvo currently lives in Billerica, Massachusetts with his wife Margaret and their two children Nicholas Edward and Nancy Dawn.
