Kevin Daly won the 1987 New York Golden Gloves 178lb Open Championship. Daly defeated Sean Hampton of the Big Wheel Boys Club in the finals to win the Championship. In 1986 Daly advanced to the finals of the 178lb Novice division and was defeated by Clinton Mitchell of the Police Athletic League. Daly trained at the Empire Sporting Club.
