Pro Boxer: Record

After a long, sucessful amatuer boxing career that included an undefeated record in the US Marine Corps, Jeff Styers turned professional in January of 1988 under the Management of Johnny Smith and ABC Promotions. At the time, the ABC Promotion's stable included other premier fighters such as Steve McCory (1984 Olympic Gold Medalist), James Toney who would go on to become World Champion, Tom "Boom Boom" Johnson (Featherweight Champion), and other notable professional fighters.

Ringside Magazine called Jeff Styers "a thinking man's fighter" because of his ablity to analyze a fight in realtime. Jeff "Sweet Ice" Styers was a true boxer, jabbing often and throwing combinations while rarely getting hit because of an exceptional defensive posture. Jeff was an exceptional counter puncher who recorded most of his knockouts through counter punching.

After the death of Jeff's Manager in 1989 and compiling an undefeated record of 8 wins, 0 losses, Jeff fought his ninth professional fight as an independent prior to signing a five-year, multi-fight contract with the Michigan based law firm, Plunkett & Cooney. Jeff's first fight under the management of Plunkett & Cooney was a 1st round knockout extending his undefeated record and recording his fourth knockout.

After battling a number of chonic injuries, Jeff Styers retired from professional boxing in 1992 with a perfect record of 11 wins - 0 losses - 5 KO's.

As of 2020, Jeff is a boxing commissioner for the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission.
