• Ramey McKnight, 81, former crowd pleasing middleweight, died in Milwaukee, WI. Ramey had 67 pro fights in the 1940's, including a rugged four-bout series with Howard Bleyhl. Their third fight, in St. Paul, MN, was refereed by Jack Dempsey who called it "the greatest fight in the Nortwest in the last 10 years". McKnight later managed lightweight contender Bob Sandburg.
