Pat Mills was a globetrotting lightweight/welterweight who is first seen fighting in England in 1920. He seems to have already had considerable experience, probably from service fights. When first known he was known as "Air Mechanic Mills," his early fights being described in the British boxing newspaper called BOXING. He was also identified there are "Pat Mills," and there is no doubt that he is the same person as "Air Mechanic Mills." He is said there to be from Gosport (in England). One of the British compilers found that he was born in Ireland, exact location not known.

In 1921 Mills went to Australia, then to the Philippines, and on to the United States in 1923, where he fought until 1925. He returned to England, but seems to have been inactive in 1926 and 1927. In 1928 he made a comeback and fought in England (with one known fight in Northern Ireland) until 1930. He is known to have had several fights in India in 1931 and fought at least once there in 1935.

The record of Mills given here was mainly compiled by unknown British compilers and by Luckett Davis. A list of Australian fights was provided by John M. Hogg. The two fights in the Philippines are from Manila newspapers, and the Mills's fights in the United States are from a variety of sources.
