Name: Tim Ford
Hometown: Jacksonville, Florida, USA
Pro Boxer: Record

Tim "The Jacksonville Flash" Ford began boxing at age 18 after graduating from high school. Ford did not have a trainer at the time and taught himself from an illustrated instruction book he ordered. After training for a year, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida, to begin his career. Once there, Ford boxed as an amateur until the age of 21 or 22 before meeting up with manager Johnny Carroll, who took him to Miami to begin his professional career.

Ford strung together a series of wins, before dropping two decisions to then-Southern Welterweight Champion Sugar Cliff. In 1967, Ford was diagnosed with a detached retina which required surgery. He was told by his doctor that if he returned to boxing there was a 50/50 chance he could completely lose vision in the eye. Ford took time off to recover and stayed out of the ring for three years. He claimed that when he returned to the ring he had lost all his boxing contacts so he managed and promoted himself. Ford had mixed results after the injury but claims he was in line to fight a top contender before suffering a second detached retina, which forced his retirement.

He worked as a computer programmer in Florida and as of 2007 was a boxing coach in Monticello, Florida. Ford claims a professional record of 47-7-2. He is the brother of Cassius Ford.
