Birth Name: Severo Bascon

Pro Boxer: Record

Kid Moro fought the great "Homicide" Henry Armstrong to three 10-round draws. The first bout was first declared a win for Armstrong. However, after "protests of fans ended in a near riot," according to the Reno Gazette, the California State boxing commissioner reversed the verdict to a draw. According to the June 6, 1945 Honolulu Advertiser, Moro was in jail in The Philippines for allegedly collaborating with the Japanese.
Moro's birthdate is based on what was reported to the Hawaiian commission in the 1930s, though it was felt by many that he was older than his given age. Though Moro was quite popular on the Hawaiian Islands, he was reported to enjoy the nightlife, and often asked for advances before fights from promoters, much to their annoyance, due to financial difficulties.
