Teofil Pollex defected to Sweden in 1958 when he was a member of the Polish National Team. By then he had two National titles. He contiuned as an amateur in the city of K?pinge. In 1960 he stepped in on very short notice from ringside to face the Russian Gennadi Shatkov in a Sweden- Russia National Team fight. It was a bout with political overtones. Pollex won on points.
Pollex turned pro in 1966, retiring the year after with a 6-1-2 record after fighting to a draw decision against Celso Calzi on December 7, 1967
