Alfaridzi died from a brain hemorrhage after being knocked out by Kongthawat Sorkitti. He was in a coma for three days before dying.
In 1999, the young and talented Alfaridzi fought another young and talented Chris John in a very brutal fight. John was knocked down twice in the first round, before John turned the table by knocking Alfaridzi down twice in the 11th, and the 12th when Alfaridzhi finally lost by TKO. John seized Alfaridzhi's national title, and later became the WBA featherweight champion.
Rumour or fact:: Alfaridzi's back head was smashed by a wooden stick in a street fight some days before his bout. It was suspected as the cause of his death, trigerred by his last bout against Khongtawat Sorkitti, which was very brutal.
