It was a bruising, mauling battle all the way, with the veteran Abrams being the aggressor most of the way as the stiffer-punching Belloise stalked and sought vainly to land a lethal wallop. Abrams took the play away from his rangy opponent from the opening bell and set a fast pace. He appeared to sag midway through the bout but came back strongly in the closing rounds, outslugging Belloise in a bitter exchange in the 9th, the best round of the fight from an action standpoint.
